WHITE LAKE ranks among leading Brasilian producers of outdoor hiking shoes (brands Snake, Fox and Hi-Tec). Other specialization is production of top quality outdoor military and tactical boots (brands Magnum, Enforcer and Guartelá).

Due to lack of qualified operators and increasing labour costs the company was forced to search for ways how to save on production costs and increase productivity.

Solution

The problem was solved by installation of several programmable machines Garudan GPS/G-6040. Large sewing area brings universal use of machines for all types and sizes of shoe uppers.

Moreover, application of extra large rotary hook decreased frequency of bobbin exchange.

Result

One machine GPS/G-6040 operated by one person today reaches the output of 450-490 pairs of shoe uppers in 8hour shift.

To achieve the same productivity, the company needed 5 postbed machines and 5 qualified operators before installation of GPS machines.

In addition to reduction of production costs and increase of productivity, this change has resulted in saving a lot of space in the production hall.
