ALPARGATAS ranks among biggest Brasilian producers of sports shoes.

Their brands such as MIZUNO, TOPPER or even the legendary HAVAIANAS, the world's No.1 beach flip-flop, are well known among users from all over the world.

In 2018 the company asked us to develop brand new type of automatic sewing machine, which should potentially solve problems connected with stitching of new types of materials characterized by high elasticity and flexibility and limited control of holding the material in the clamp during the sewing process.

Solution

A prototype of new stitching automatic machine Garudan GPS (subclass CF) has been developed in cooperation with this customer.

The machine is equipped with a special mechanism of lower submergible presser foot which compensates for elasticity of material, allows for better control of the position of material in the clamp and thus brings possibility to follow new trends by using new types of materials while keeping the high quality of stitching.

The machine is equipped with new pneumatic thread trimming, which is more reliable and precise.

 

Result

The customer was satisfied with the presentation of the new machine which demonstrated sewing of their own product. The result showed improved stitching parameters:

better control of the material in the clamp, perfect stitch composition, constant stitch length and reliable thread trimming

After installation of first machines GPS/G-6040GCF, the new technical solution will be tested in real production with the view of long-term cooperation and supply of other machines in near future, which will increase productivity and save production costs of our customer.
